In choosing to take a SiDI Certificate, you are demonstrating your intention to keep your dance students or yourself as a dancer as safe and healthy as possible. As you study, you will be engaging with the most up to date industry recommendations that merge best practice with dance science research. You will gain skills and tools to enable you stay at the cutting edge in your field and make the dance experience not only enjoyable but, more importantly, help you to minimise the risk of injury while enhancing quality and performance standards.
Healthy Dance Certificates
All of the SiDI Healthy Dance Certificates provide essential Continuing Professional Development for you as a dance practitioner or dancer. Our own quality assurance combined with backing from the Council for Dance Education and Training means that our Certificates are recognised and valued in the sector and have transferable international currency. Whichever dance style you work in regardless of level, (recreational, pre-professional or professional), we offer a range of options for professional endorsement of your healthy dance practice.
We currently have four Certificates in healthy dance, each with a slightly different focus depending on your individual needs.
Depending on your initial level of familiarity with the principles of healthy dance and how confident you feel in your ability to evidence your understanding effectively, we have a range of ways in which you can study towards the Healthy Dance Certificates.
SiDI provide study guidance to all registered Candidates who have one year from registration with us to submit documents and material for review. We do not need you to attend an examination or training session, you can deliver everything to us for review through download, email or post. You can study for the certificate at your own pace, either by undertaking the research on your own, or by taking up one of the additional provision options.
